REVIEW Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer - Is It A Good Concealer for Acne Prone and Sensitive Skin? #maybellineph #drugstoremakeup #TipidBeauty

Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer is something that I've always had in my makeup kit. I've been using this for years and this has remained my favorite for so long that I hoarded several tubes a few years back. Now that I am on my last one, it is time for a review!

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer Review - Is It A Good Concealer for Acne Prone and Sensitive Skin?

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer Review - Is It A Good Concealer for Acne Prone and Sensitive Skin

I have acne-prone and sensitive skin so I need a concealer that is light enough to use under the eye, has enough coverage to cover my pimple marks, and can withstand the scorching heat of the Philippine climate without sliding off my combination-oily skin. If you have the same skin issues, you will probably like the Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer!

What Is The Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer?

The Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer is either the same product as the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer or a rebranded version of it. This concealer makes the under eye area appear refreshed and radiant at the same time while concealing fine lines. This isn't meant for spot concealer but more for contouring, highlighting, and brightening but works for spot concealer if you buy a shade that matches your foundation. For contouring and highlighting, buy several shades darker or lighter.

I prefer the Maybelline Age Rewind Eraser Concealer VS LA Girl Concealer. If Maybelline got color correctors in this formula, they can easily dominate the drugstore concealer market.

Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer Price

The Maybelline Age Rewind Eraser retails for $9.99 in USD but sells for less in the Philippines at just $7-$8 or 350 to 400 pesos. Weird, right? But they do manufacture and distribute regionally so that's how they can adjust pricing like that. I don't notice any difference in the formula of those sold abroad VS in the Philippines but I buy abroad because my shade is not available locally.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer Ingredients

The Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer Ingredients starts with water which explains why it is so light. Has glycerin and dimethicone as the top ingredients too which explains how and why it feels slippery and smooth and why it is not like other concealers that crease so much.

Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer Shades

The Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer got 18 shades but I think only 6 are available in the Philippines. Not an issue for me because I usually buy abroad as the shades for me are usually on the light side and often sold out or not available locally. The shades available locally are those that favor Filipina skintone so if you have very pale or deep skin, you can try your luck at Philippine online sellers or purchase abroad and ship to the Philippines using MyShippingBox or Kango Express like I do.

Sand, cool ivory, ivory, fair, warm light, light, light honey, medium, honey, golden, caramel, warm olive, tan, mahogany, hazelnut, deep bronze, neutralizer, brightener. I got the old packaging so mine is called light pale which is the equivalent of warm light if I am not mistaken.

Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer Packaging

The packaging for Maybelline products varies by region from what I've observed. Like in some countries their foundation is in glass bottles and in some, the foundation shades are available in squeezable tubes. This is because Maybelline is a huge brand under the beauty giant L'oreal. They have manufacturing plants everywhere and manufacture and distribute locally when they can to keep production costs down. This is how they can afford mega advertising budgets despite having low prices even for drugstore.

The one I got is in the old packaging, a vacuum tube with a sponge applicator on top. This is almost the same as the packaging in other countries for the same product. It is just that the fonts differ sometimes. I wish they got their standardization better because there are a lot of fakes and it's hard to distinguish the authentic Maybelline products. I buy mine from Ulta, CVS, or Maybelline website so I can be sure that mine is real. I usually buy American makeup in bulk to ship to my place in the Philippines.

How to use/apply the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer

  1. You have to wist the collar part to make the micro-corrector release the product at the top of the sponge.
  2. You can use the applicator in a sweeping or dabbing motion depending on where you are applying the concealer. I prefer to use a combination of these motions for a smoother finish.
  3. You can use the neutralizer shade for dark circles and use a lighter shade for highlighting. I've used this as contour too and cream bronzer and works beautifully on top of BB cream.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer Review for Sensitive and Acne-Prone Skin

I love how the lasting power is 3-8 hours more so when set with translucent powder. I have used this under the eye and over the whole face when I don't feel like using heavy foundation and I haven't broken out with this or got skin irritation. This Maybelline Eraser Concealer is definitely good for my acne-prone and sensitive skin. I prefer this over Tarte Shape Tape so can hold its own against mid-range makeup brands too.

Maybelline is not cruelty-free. This is why I am just using up my stash and not buying more. I might review some other Maybelline products because it used to be my favorite drugstore makeup brand and I still have a lot of other Maybelline makeup plus people gift me with Maybelline products all the time. I just don't feel like buying more because I rather purchase cruelty-free.

I still give this 4.5/5. Good product. Really a solid favorite.
