I don't remember blogging here about a brow product because brow products are normally challenging to write about so I just feature them in videos most of the time. Today, I have been very tired and worn out and literally couldn't summon the strength to do much except manage to put on a little bit of Belo SunExpert Whitening Sunscreen, Belo SunExpert Loose Powder, GRWM Cosmetics Milk Tints, and brows courtesy of EB Advance Silky Brow Liner so yeah, time to review these brow liners!
This will be a very short blog review because there is not much to say about brow liners so I will just talk about the most important details. And yes, just in case you are wondering, EB Advance is Cruelty-free and paraben-free, yay!
EB Advance Power Paint faced a bit of controversy last year in the local makeup scene because some people thought that this product is a shameless copycat of the Glossier Cloud Paint. This is why I took down my first review because I wanted to check if there is any truth to the wild accusations. Anyway, after looking around online, I found out that there are a bunch of similar-looking and similar-marketed products all over the world and none were met with the same controversy with the cancel culture crowd. Also found out that Glossier wasn't even the first the come out with the same concept anyway so meh, it really was just a small-scale social media frenzy for nothing except typical beauty world drama more so that Maybelline Cheek Heat was released a few weeks ago and it didn't get the same treatment from the Philippine cancel culture crowd for some reason. Smaller local brands released products with similar-looking packaging and concept too so yeah, the controversy was just weird. At any rate, besides the packaging, the EB Advance Power Paint is a different product in my experience and I've been using it for about half a year now. Read up on my thoughts below!
Ever Bilena Match Color Stix is one of the new-ish products that was released by this Cruelty-Free Makeup brand. I say new-ish because it's definitely older than 6 months but was just not hyped or had as much recognition as the Careline Multi Sticks which are very popular. Perhaps because instead of a full-range of cream face products, the Match Color Stix only has 3 shimmer shades. Don't let that stop you from trying these out btw, they performed better than expected!
Gel eyeshadow products are not new in the Philippine market but the ones that were available before were from international makeup brands. Don't quote me on this but I think Spotlight Cosmetics is the first Filipino Makeup Brand that released a gel eyeshadow that truly works for Philippine weather. I've been using this since March 2021 and haven't experienced the problems I've had with similar products in the past. If you have oily eyelids that tend to give you raccoon eyes, then keep on reading!
Cruelty-free cosmetics is not a new concept in the Philippines. Most, if not all of the brands featured below have been cruelty-free before it became as an 'in' thing in the world of beauty. This isn't my first article writing about cruelty-free beauty brands in the Philippines. I have an earlier entry in my old blog circa 2018 and my vlog in 2019. Back then, I was only able to list 12 makeup brands so coming up with a list of 25 Cruelty-Free Cosmetic Brands in the Philippines, and in just 3 years, here we are with double the numbers. I believe this is partly because we have new cruelty-free makeup brands and some old brands that I was finally able to confirm do not harm animals and do not test on animals, yey!
EB Collection Blush Palette is something that I wanted to review when it first came out, but the palette was so difficult to find that I simply forgot about it until I saw it again months later while I was browsing Lazada. So just a quick note that I haven't seen this in any physical stores but is available online. Let's move on to the review!
