Althea Petal Velvet Sunaway Review - Super Light Sunblock with No White Cast!

Althea Petal Velvet Sunaway is usually mistaken for just another sunblock, but this product from none other than the Althea Petal Velvet Line is a lot more than that!

Althea Petal Velvet Sunaway Review - Super Light Sunblock with No White Cast!

Readers who've been fans of this blog for a while know that I love using sunscreen and sunblock products but am not a fan of sticky feel and white cast. I am very picky when it comes to sun protection products that I use on my face and the Althea Petal Velvet Powder passed my standards so yey!

The Althea Petal Velvet Sunaway is the newest product in the Petal Velvet Line from Althea Korea. It promises to shield the skin from the sun while being lightweight, invisible, and bringing skin-saving nutrients to the skin.

Beauty Glazed Palettes Swatches Price and Unboxing! Shopee Haul Series

Beauty Glazed is a makeup brand that caught my eye in facebook because their palettes are reportedly dupes for high-end makeup palettes.

I mean, how can you go wrong with these? Just take a look!

Beauty Glazed Palettes Swatches and First Impressions

So when I found them for sale via Shopeeph, I immediately made several purchases from various sellers and waited for my parcel to arrive. Here are my first impressions about the products.

GirlStuff Nail Polish Bases - Perfect Gift for Your Girlfriends!

This post has long been in the making but I wasn't sure how I can showcase nail polish products that are supposed to go under nail color. I've blogged and vlogged about Girl Stuff Nail Polish a few times in the past by featuring them in several YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram videos but I feel that my review of these particular products will help people if I write about them (after all, Facebook Live and IG stories have limited audience). Below are why Girl Stuff Nail Polish bases will make the perfect small gift for your bffs!

Girl Stuff Nail Polish Bases Review

I've confessed in my videos and older blogs that I have a nail polish obsession that comes and goes. There are periods when I won't touch a nail polish bottle for a month or so and periods when I change my nail polish every day! Needless to say my nails tend to really suffer when I'm in my nail-polish-loco-mode...but that was before I discovered using nail polish bases.

EB Advance Lip Define Matte Matic Lipstick Review Swatches Price | Nude Lipstick for Filipinas

I have a ton of reviews featuring EB Advance products but I can't help but also create a dedicated post for the EB Advancce Lip Define Matte Matic lipstick as well. I loved the EB Advance Matic Lipstick released in 2016 and after 2 years, they created and released a much better version!

EB Advance Lip Define Matte Matic Lipstick Review and Swatches

Get It Beauty Real Fresh Skin Detoxers Uses! KBeauty Idols love them too!

It has been a while since I blogged about the Althea x Get It Beauty Real Fresh Skin Detoxer Launch and I've been enjoying the skin detoxers so much that I purchased again (which I shared via IG live unboxing @pinaybeautyandstyle IG). I'm writing again today because I found out that you can use the detoxers for other parts of the body too!

The Real Fresh Skin Detoxers shown above are a collaboration between Althea Korea and Get It Beauty, a Korean beauty show that is very popular in TV. The show will often have experts in the beauty field like dermatologists, pharmacists, and even celebrities. Their primary audience are young professional women who love Kbeauty.

So I saw a video from Get it Beauty wherein EXID member Jeonghwa and Korea's well-known beauty influencer Minsco were having a girl bonding time trying out the Althea Skin Detoxers. It turned out that they caught in on the hype and created their own video using the products!

So as you can see, the Althea Skin Detoxers collab with Get It Beauty are 2-in-1 cleanser packs that allow you to detox your skin in just 10 seconds while also injecting it with loads of skin-loving nutrients. My personal favorite is the Green Tea version as what I showed in my FB live video a few days ago at the FB pinaybeautyandstyle page.

You can also read about the Althea x Get It Beauty Real Fresh Skin Detoxer Launch  from my earlier blog post.

Vice Cosmetics Aura Collection Swatches and Price Blush, Contour, and Glow!

Vice Cosmetics launched their cheek products and called it the Aura Collection. The collection consists of Aura Blush (8 blushes), Aura Contour (2 contour powders), and Aura Glow (3 highlighters). This post is not yet a full review but more of a swatch fest and first impressions review of the Vice Cosmetics Aura Collection.

Vice Cosmetics Aura Collection Blushes, Contour, and Highlighter Swatches

I was honestly surprised that the Aura collection is this big. I know this isn't as huge as collections released by foreign makeup brands but local brands typically release just half of these number at a time. I like the fact the blushes came in 2 finishes and 8 shades and that the contour and highlighters were chosen to fit the various skin tones that pinays have.

I like the no fuss and frills packaging. No unnecessary mirror or applicator that I don't use anyway. I think they made a great decision doing away with those to bring the pricing down.

lots of swatches below!

Soothies Foot Care Line Review - Giving my Feet a Makeover! (with before and after)

I wasn't blessed with pretty feet. My grandpa used to tease me that I have "paang luya" or "paang magsasaka" hahaha! And so I for the longest time, I haven't taken much care of my feet and will often wear closed shoes. I don't even frequent spas and also opt to do my own pedicure at home because I'm embarrassed by how my feet looks. It doesn't help that I'm not very lady-like so you can say that my feet have really been used and abused...more so that I give lectures standing up 8-10 hours a day!

I tried the Soothies Foot Care Line because my feet really needed tender loving care. I figured I better give it a makeover first before I walk around wearing strappy shoes or book an appointment at the foot spa. Also, honestly speaking, I don't have time to go to salons and spas so why not try to pamper my feet at home, right? Bonus points that the entire Soothies Foot Care Line is available at Watsons and everything is reasonably priced! Yay!

Soothies Foot Care Review

The entire Soothies Foot Care Line retails for a little less than P700 pesos. That's not bad considering that an appointment at a foot spa can cost just as much. By going the DIY foot care route, you can pamper your feet anytime and anywhere!

Below are all the products in no particular order plus what I liked about each one.

Waking Up From Blogging Hiatus

I've literally gone silent for about 3 months and I'm not going to sugar coat the reasons why. I got burned out and got too busy. Beauty blogging is a hobby for me (not my career) and it just got to the point where I was spending more time on it than my real job and it wasn't healthy.

I also noticed that I was getting influenced by the "influencer culture" of hyping things up and wanting to be the first to post about "reviews" when the truth is they've only held the product for like a few seconds or swatched the product on their arm. That's not my style and trying to be more like  that really got to me. Instead of being an enjoyable hobby, blogging became a rat race thing for me so I got tired and decided to focus on my post graduate studies and detox from all the beauty blogging hoolabaloo for a while.

Anyway enough of the real talk. I'm back to blogging but not sure if I'll still continue posting review videos at YouTube. My videos are getting flagged as adult content because the channel name reads like a popular search term for sleazy youtube videos. I might have to change channel name, hahah!

I know I'm rambling at this point but I just want to make a note of this to remind myself not to fall into the same void in the future. I have plenty of nice things to share. They may not be "uso" or always talking about new releases but they are real. Real reviews that are meant to share information and document experiences...not just to gain views :)

Still alive and went to an event after 10,000 years hahaha! This will be in the next posts!

Oh, just an update...over the course of the past 6 months I lost 33 pounds and gained back 15 pounds...so in some photos I may look slim and in some I may look a bit bigger. I'll be posting about things I tried and beauty products I explored for the past 6-8 months. I'm really glad that I still took photos and notes even when I was not actively blogging. They're real documentation material of the time I was testing certain items.

I'm also thinking about focusing more on products and brands that matter to me so every now and then I might post about relatively unknown products. Isn't that what real blogging is about? Sharing discoveries? For some reason, blogging in recent times became synonymous with posting about whatever is the "in thing". Naging pa-hype na lang. Not my cup of tea so I'll keep creating in the way that I enjoy while being true to myself.

This blog is meant to be my "escape" from work and stress so please bear with me na ayoko ma-toxic makiuso. This is also why I don't entertain lots of sponsored crap and post about things I actually tried. Hope y'all get what I mean. Peace out, char!

More blogs (not rambling ones) coming soon!
