LA Girl Beauty Brick Nudes Eyeshadow Palette Review Price and Swatches

Rose gold eyeshadow always gets to me. I don't know what it is about romantic golden-pink hues but I am definitely obsessed with them! You might be thinking, oh no! Not ANOTHER pink eyeshadow review please! Well, you might change your mind because the LA Girl Beauty Brick Nudes Eyeshadow Palette isn't just another 'pink' eyeshadow palette, not for me at least.

LA Girl Beauty Brick Nudes Eyeshadow Palette Review

What makes this rose gold palette special?

Almost every mainstream makeup brand have their version of a pink eyeshadow or rose gold eyeshadow palette, but not all brands do well in their execution of the concept.

I'm not saying that this is at par or a complete dupe for the Naked 3 palette by Urban Decay, but this is as good as it gets from the drugstore; albeit one of those in the higher price range (coz import tax!).

The price is P649 in LA Girl Philippines counters and kiosks so it is about $3 more locally since this palette sells for $10 in the US. I think that is a more than fair price considering you won't have to deal with custom fees and is assured that you'll be getting the real thing. LA Girl Cosmetics has been pirated by manufacturers of SG authentic makeup because some of their makeup are really popular (like their concealers) but quality-wise, nothing beats the real thing.

The LA Girl Nudes Eyeshadow Palette was first released in October 2014. I remember this because I was gifted with two of the palette at the time for my birthday. Unfortunately, I was at my no makeup phase back then so I ended up passing up my first palettes and regifting them...I regret that! hahaha!

LA Girl Nudes Eyeshadow Palette is P649 locally

I really like the sleek and easy-to-just-throw-in-the-purse packaging. Yes, it is cardboard but it is sturdy enough to protect the product inside. I also like that it only takes up the space that it needs to in my makeup kit. No bulky packaging!

Another thing that I like about this LA Girl Eyeshadow palette and it's packaging is that not only is it cruelty-free (yes, they're a brand of #crueltyfreemakeup!) but also environment-friendly because it does not waste resources. Again, being non-bulky and all.

Very pretty and comes with a decent mirror. I like that the mirror is just a strip because it does not take up the whole flap/cover of the palette (so there's space for a window for you to see the makeup inside).

the first six shades would would be great for trendy Kbeauty makeup look.

then you bring your look up a notch by using the second six shades that would be great for a rose gold smoky eye!

LA Girl Beauty Brick Nudes Eyeshadow Palette  Swatches

Don't you hate it when makeup reviews only feature hyper-pigmented finger swatches over primer? IKR? So I made sure to try out the shades using the brush in the palette and compared it with finger swatches over bare skin.

The swatches at the top are light finger swatches and those at the bottom are 2-3 swipes of a loaded shader brush. I don't know about you but I call that P-I-G-M-E-N-T-ED!

LA Girl Beauty Brick Nudes Eyeshadow Palette Swatches

My precious, precious swatches hahahaha! In the photo above, I swatched the shades over primer using a sponge tip applicator. The swatches applied really smooth. Like SMOOOOOOOOTH baby.

LA Girl Nudes Eyeshadow Palette  Swatches

I thought it would be great to describe each shade so please use the photo above as a reference since the shades in the palette are not named.

Shade 1 - a matte ivory for blending, highlighting, and as a base color.

Shade 2 - a matte pink-brown-taupe that is muted enough for an overall lid color or as a crease color.

Shade 3 - a shimmery champagne pink, not the same as number 5 because this has more brown but 5 has more pink. This shade has the most sparkles compared to the rest of the palette and has a bit of fallout

Shade 4 - a matte light brownish pink. If this shade is sold as a blush, I'd hoard this!

Shade 5 - a shimmery metallic rose gold. This is so pretty more so when applied over primer and buffed coz it shines so nicely. Perhaps this can be used as a highlighter too.

Shade 6 - a shimmery metallic copper. Like strawberry chocolate milk but shiny.

Shade 7 - a shimmery mix of gold and copper.

Shade 8 - a shimmery bronze with some extra golden sheen under some lights.

Shade 9 - a muted satin rose gold with a hint of chocolate. Not the same as 3 and 5 because this has more gold than those shades and this is lighter.

Shade 10 - a shimmery warm chocolate brown (this looks like satin in some lights)

Shade 11 - a satin deep dark pinkish brown-black. This is my fave shade in this palette.

Shade 12 - a satin deep rose gray. Very pretty.

LA Girl Nudes Eyeshadow Palette Review Summary

Shades: 3 matte shades, 9 satins/shimmers

Pigmentation: no chalkiness that I have noticed. The shades are well saturated with color, even the matte ones. Does not feel like drugstore, more like mid-range brands.

Texture: I won't describe the shadows as buttery but they are smooth and blendable.

Wear time: Almost full day without primer (considering that I got oily lids) and upwards of 10 to 12 hours with primer. Frankly better than what I expected from the brand.

Value for money: I want the entire collection now and I'm willing to shell out my own money. This is beyond sulit!

Overall rating: 4.5/5 because this palette performed better than similarly-priced and similarly packaged items from other brands. Very close dupe to the Naked 3 palette!

Is the LA Girl Beauty Brick Nudes Eyeshadow Palette a dupe for Naked 3?

Yes and NO.

  • Yes because the concept is the same and really done well.
  • No because some shades in this palette performed better or are better shade options than those in Urban Decay's Naked 3 (especially the last 2 dark shades).
